The upcoming PS4 and Switch version of Witch on the Holy Night (Mahoutsukai no Yoru) will release in December, the visual novel’s Twitter page announced. It was also revealed that the Type-Moon visual novel will offer English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese language options in addition to Japanese.

Additionally, the visual novel’s voice cast was revealed alongside a main visual. The cast includes Haruka Tomatsu as Aoko Aozaki, Yuusuke Kobayashi as Sojuro Shizuki, Kana Hanazawa as Alice Kuonji, Chika Anzai as Kojika Kumari, Shohei Kajikawa as Hosuke Kinomi, and Toshinari Fukamachi as Tobimaru Tsujiji.

Witch on the Holy Night was first released in 2012 for PC. The upcoming PS4 and Switch release is described as a fully voiced and full HD port of the original visual novel. Its main character Aoko Aozaki originally appeared in 2000’s Tsukihime, which takes place after the events of Witch on the Holy Night.

Tech Gian Magazine (as translated by Akihabara Channel, via VNDB) describes the story as:

“Near the end of the Showa Era. (Late 1980s)

In the old mansion rumored that a witch lives, Aoko Aozaki who just started learning sorcery and her teacher, a young mage Alice Kuonji, lived together.

But as if he was guided by an invisible string of fate, a young boy called Soujuurou Shizuki joins them and a strange communal life begins…”

“Late 1980s. The golden age full of brightness and spirits. The boy who came to the urban city passes by the two witches who live in the present”

“The boy lived a really normal life

She lived with pride and confidence

The girl lived hidden as if she’s asleep”

Kinoko Nasu is the director and scenario writer of Witch on the Holy Night, while Hirokazu Koyama is the character designer, key frame artist, and chief graphics director. Hideyuki FukasawaKeita HagaJames Harris, and hil are the soundtrack composers, while Tsukurimonoji is credited with the visual novel’s script and arrangement.

An anime movie adaptation produced by Ufotable is set to release in 2023.
