#’Mr. Christmas Tree’ brings cheer to gloomy NYC

Mr. Christmas Tree is sprucing up the streets of the Big Apple again.

It’s Tommy Liberto’s sixth year of dressing up as a Christmas tree decked out in colorful lights — a sight that brings a smile to New Yorkers’ faces.

Liberto, of Bel Air, Maryland, was spotted Saturday riding the subway, walking past Radio City Music Hall, hopping on the Staten Island Ferry and even going down a snowy hill on a sled at a park — all while curious spectators watched with wondering eyes.

Liberto’s costume this year features real evergreen boughs and weighs over 40 pounds.

The 47-year-old comedian, who often documents his Christmas tree adventures on social media, says he loves seeing people’s reactions.

“The reactions are priceless, I love it. It’s a lot of “holy ****, oh my God, WHOA, I LOVE THAT, and bouts of laughter can be heard everywhere I go,” Liberto told CNN in 2019. “All the smiles I spread makes my smile wider.”
