A new key visual for the Mou Ippon! judo anime, depicting its characters hanging out together at a judo hall, has been released.

It was also revealed that Mou Ippon! will premiere in Japan on January 8 (effectively January 9 at 1:35 AM JST).

The anime is based on the Akita SHoten-published sports manga by Yu Muraoka, which began in 2018 and has 20 tankoubon volumes as of October 2022. The manga series is serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion and published under the Shonen Champion Comics label.

The plot follows Michi Sonoda, who planned to quit judo after her last middle school tournament. However, she ends up continuing the sport in high school after receiving an invitation from her best friend Sanae Takigawa and final middle school-era opponent Towa Hiura.

The staff of the Mou Ippon! anime includes Takeru Ogiwara (Joran: The Princess of Snow and Blood opening director, The Perfect Insider photography director) as director, Aya Satsuki (My Master Has No Tail episode script writer) as series composer, Airi Takekawa (Pandora to Akubi sub-character designer) as character designer and chief animation director, and Shun Narita (When Will Ayumu Make His Move?) as music composer. BAKKEN RECORD is in charge of the animation production. 

Meanwhile, the cast includes Ayasa Itou as Michi, Yukari Anzai as Sanae, Chiyuki Miura as Towa, Nene Hieda as Anna, Anna Nagase as Tsumugi, and Yumi Uchiyama as Shino Natsume.
