When we first heard about Windows 11, one of the most exciting features was running Android apps on it. The feature was delayed, but Microsoft is finally bringing it out in February 2022, though it’s in the form of a preview.

Microsoft wrote a lengthy blog post about the future of PCs, and tucked in it was a mention that the company would launch a public preview of Android apps on Windows 11 in February.

“Next month we’re bringing new experiences to Windows that include a public preview of how you can use Android apps on Windows 11 through the Microsoft Store and our partnerships with Amazon and Intel,” said Microsoft in a blog post.

Microsoft didn’t go into detail about what would be included in the preview or how you’d sign up for it. It’s not clear if it’ll feature the complete set of apps or if it’ll be a small sample of apps. The company also didn’t say whether you’d have to be a Windows Insider to test it or if all Windows 11 users will be able to try. The term “public” makes us think everyone will be able to use it, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Hopefully, Microsoft will reveal more information shortly, as using Android apps on our Windows 11 PCs is one of the main things we’re looking forward to from Windows. This preview is the next step towards enjoying the feature entirely.
