Zettai Karen Children began its serialization in Weekly Shonen Sunday in 2005 after a four-chapter story that ran in 2004, that was further refined from a short story that ran in Shonen Sunday Super in 2003. The manga also inspired a 51-episode anime series in 2008, also titled Zettai Karen Children. Outside of Japan, the anime and manga were given the alternate title of Psychic Squad, with Sentai Filmworks releasing the anime as Psychic Squad in 2012 in the US.
