#Mike Pence: Biden, Democratic Party have been ‘overtaken by the radical left’

Vice President Mike Pence said it was “deeply humbling” to be nominated as President Trump’s running mate for another four years and encouraged attendees at the Republican National Convention to work to get GOP candidates elected in November.

“It is deeply humbling for me to come to you on a day like today,” Pence said Monday at the Charlotte Convention Center. “I heard there was a unanimous vote a little bit earlier.”

Saying Joe Biden and the Democratic Party have been “overtaken by the radical left,” Pence called for four more years for Trump.

“I gotta be honest with you, I’m here for one reason and one reason only, and that is not just the Republican Party, but America needs four more years of President Donald Trump in the White House,” he said.

He said since being elected in 2016, he and Trump have restored the military, added conservatives to the federal courts who will back freedom of religion and the Second Amendment and the “sanctity of life.”

“We’re gonna take our case to the American people. It’s a case of lower taxes, free-market economics, secure borders, right to life, and we’re going to make it clear that this president, this vice president and this party will always stand with the men and women who serve on the thin blue line of law enforcement, we’re gonna back the blue,” he said.

Giving a nod to an expected appearance by Trump at the convention site, Pence said he was going to slip away, adding he’ll have more to say when he formally accepts the nomination Wednesday night at Fort McHenry in Maryland.

He called on Republicans to work to give GOP candidates victories in November.

“I’m absolutely convinced: I believe if all of us do all we need to do between now and Nov. 3 — if we organize, if we mobilize, if we hit the phones, if we hit the doorsteps — we do our part in every state, in every territory of this country, we’re going to elect and re-elect Republican leaders, all across this land,” Pence said.

“And with your continued support, and with God’s help, we’re gonna make America great again, again.”
