Microsoft notes the following important changes made to the browser.

Collections adds “Send to OneNote” and is now also available on mobile (iOS and Android)

One of the useful and exciting features of the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser is Collections. Collections allow you to organize your links into topics and quickly organize, export, and manage them. Finally, Microsoft Edge on iOS and Android now supports collections. Users can now export their Collections to OneNote. Besides OneNote, there are also options for Excel and Word. This feature must be already familiar to Dev and Canary Edge users.

Family Safety on Android

It is now possible to create creating a family group using Microsoft Edge on Windows 10, Xbox One and on Android. When your kid signs into Microsoft Edge on Android as a member of a family group, you now get the same protection as you do on Windows 10 and Xbox One:

  • Get activity reports on what websites your kids visit and the search terms they enter on their phone or tablet. Visit family.microsoft.com to see these activity reports, or use the Microsoft Family Safety app on your phone.
  • Create customizable lists of allowed and blocked sites, so you can control the content your kids see in Microsoft Edge. Kids can also ask you for permission to view a site directly from Microsoft Edge.
  • Have peace of mind since Bing SafeSearch is automatically set to Strict for maximum protection and content filtering. Microsoft Edge also automatically blocks certain adult websites to help protect your kids from mature content.
  • Have full control knowing sign out in Microsoft Edge is only granted by the organizer, and InPrivate browsing is automatically blocked to help your kids stay safer while they use Microsoft Edge.

Picture Dictionary in Edge Immersive Reader

A new feature, Picture Dictionary, is available in Immersive Reader, and displays a small descriptive image for a selected word, giving visual definition. It provides a picture representation of a word on any web page to help increase comprehension.
