The Mets dipped into the undrafted free-agent pool Monday, adding two players from the collegiate ranks.

Brandon McIlwain and Drake Nightengale both announced on Twitter they have signed with the club. Players who weren’t selected last week in an abbreviated draft are eligible to sign with teams and receive up to $20,000.

McIlwain, an outfielder, is a former college quarterback at South Carolina and Cal. He was selected by the Marlins in the 26th round of last year’s draft but opted for a return to Cal.

Nightengale, a right-handed pitcher, was a senior at South Alabama.

Last week the Mets drafted outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong, right-handed pitcher JT Ginn, outfielder Isaiah Greene, shortstop Anthony Walters, catcher Matthew Dyer and right-handed pitcher Eric Orze.
