Meta Portal Pro concept reimagines immersive communication

During the pandemic when we were all either working from home or doing hybrid setups with our companies, we saw some devices come out that were meant to help us not be distracted from other things and focus on work. Meta launched Portal which was a hardware and software system that were designed to enhance video communication, especially for personal and home use, with a focus on making conversations feel more natural and immersive. It became successful to a certain extent but maybe now is time for an upgrade.

The Meta Portal Pro Concept reimagines the future of immersive communication. Building upon Meta’s original Portal devices, this concept integrates advanced technologies to enhance virtual interactions in a hybrid work environment. It transforms the traditional monitor into a sophisticated communication hub. By embedding 3D stereoscopic cameras at eye level, the device offers more natural and engaging video calls. The inclusion of spatial sound technology further enriches the experience, creating a sense of presence that bridges the gap between virtual and physical spaces.
