STOCKTON, CA – MBNel wrestles with his mortality in latest single, “Ghosts.” The haunting track is produced by HeyTaewon and finds the Filipino-American rapper seeking answers that sometimes lead to dire results.

He laments about abandonment and fair-weathered people in his life. “Why does everything I love always turn around and leave me damaged,” he raps. The Stockton rapper also touches on his struggles (“I had demons talking to me / I fucked up when I listen”) and how a brush with death can shift perspectives.

The single is the latest in MBNel’s string of music that tackles impermanence and death. In August, he shared his “Take My Hand Freestyle,” referencing violent encounters, his fears, and his “brothers.” He raps, “I hate the streets, but I love it because it’s my motivation.”

Earlier this year, he dropped his No Hard Feelings album via EMPIRE, which features a solo guest verse from Drakeo The Ruler.
