Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles has received a new update that adds the Lower Rank Five demon Rui and the Upper Three demon Akaza to the 3D fighting game’s Versus Mode. The intro trailers for both characters were released last week on October 27.
There are also new online missions which allow players to earn Kimetsu points, the game’s currency.
The post-launch update is the first of three that are planned for Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles. As with this update, the next two will also add playable demons to Versus Mode.
Starting today, Rui (Lower Five) and Akaza (Upper Three) of the Twelve Kizuki join the Versus mode.
Players can also challenge themselves in new online missions to earn Kimetsu Points.

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles launched for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on October 14 in Japan and October 15 worldwide. Aside from the tag team-based Versus Mode, the game has an Adventure Mode that tackles both the events of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series’ first season and Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train.
It was announced on October 27 that the game had shipped over one million units worldwide.
Sega Asia describes the game as:
Become the Demon Slayer, Tanjiro Kamado, to fight off the demons threatening humanity in order to turn his sister Nezuko, who has become a demon, back into a human, as well as to avenge the death of his family by hunting down the demon who killed them.
