#Mark Hamill and the Lincoln Project call out Trump on absentee ballots in powerful new ad

With Election Day right around the corner, The Lincoln Project has enlisted some help from Star Wars icon Mark Hamill.

In a nearly two-minute ad called “Absentee,” Hamill gives the American people a crash course in political history and delivers a crucial last-minute reminder: “Elections have consequences.”

In a press release, the political action committee (founded by former Republican strategists in 2019) detailed the importance of casting a ballot in the 2020 election — be it in person or absentee.

Hamill reminds viewers that America’s voting history is a troubled one, and notes that Donald Trump’s administration continually seeks to delegitimize mail-in and absentee ballots across the country.

“Nothing is more important than counting every vote, especially those that are serving our country. Suppressing any vote is un-American,” Hamill said.
