#Mariah Carey welcomes holiday season with new Twitter video

Halloween is over, and Mariah Carey is officially out of hibernation.

The “Queen of Christmas” took to Twitter on Monday to celebrate the end of the spooky season and the unofficial start of the festive one.

Mimi, 51, posted a short video to the social media site, in which she is seen standing at a front door as the opening of her iconic Yuletide track “All I Want For Christmas Is You” plays in the background.

The five-time Grammy winner wields a giant candy cane and a coy look on her face as she opens the door and steps out onto the stoop.

The front of the home is covered with carved pumpkins, which apparently displeases the superstar singer, who starts smashing the Jack o’lanterns with her cane.

“It’s tiiiime!” Carey squeals, destroying the Halloween decorations with delight in her latest perennial video.

“Smash that pumpkin and treat it as pie… cause we still gotta get through Thanksgiving,” she wrote at the end of the video. The self-aware star added the hashtag “#MariahSZN” to the tweet.

Indeed, Carey and Christmas have become synonymous over the past 27 years, thanks to the release of her 1994 album “Merry Christmas,” which has sold more than 15 million copies worldwide.

The album features “All I Want For Christmas Is You” — perhaps the most famous holiday hit in modern history. The Yuletide anthem hit the No. 1 spot on the Hot 100 in both 2019 and 2020. Last year, the song also broke Spotify’s record for most single day-plays, with the track streaming a staggering 17.223 million times in 24 hours.

Now, Carey stans are speculating that she could be teasing a new holiday hit, with viewers noticing that the new Twitter video features a silver purse embellished with the date “11/5.”

In recent days, many fans have been predicting that Carey would resurface — perhaps unsurprisingly — just after Halloween.

“Y’all feel that breeze? Mariah Carey is defrosting as we speak, Merry Christmas y’all,” one fan wrote on Oct. 28.

“Mariah Carey is currently thawing out for midnight, preparing for her reign to begin anew,” another tweeted on Oct. 31.

Each holiday season, social media is awash with humorous memes and quips about Carey raking in cash from her Christmas hits.

Last year, one Twitter used shared a hilarious meme envisioning the singer surrounded by stacks of $100 bills.

“All I Want For Christmas Is You” has reportedly earned Carey more than $2 million in royalties on Spotify alone, according to a 2019 CNN report. And in total? Well, that’s a much higher sum. In 2016, also according to CNN, The Economist estimated Carey had earned more than $60 million in royalties from making listeners merry.
