MAPPA Brings in CloverWorks’ Yuichi Fukushima as External Director

Japanese animation studio MAPPA has announced that CloverWorks vice president and producer Yuichi Fukushima is coming onboard as an external director.

It also announced that Motoi Okuno will be taking on an executive officer role.

Fukushima described the opportunity as a great honor, saying that MAPPA was leading the way with various efforts and implementing innovative initiatives.

Meanwhile, Okuno said that as someone with deep connections to 3DCG production, he will strive to be a bridge that deliver the voices of those on the frontlines to management, while also conveying the ideals and intentions of management to the production staff.

Before becoming a part of CloverWorks, Fukushima built up production experience at GONZO and A-1 Pictures. Some of his credits include being a production assistant on Birdy the Mighty: Decode , the production desk of The Idolmaster, and animation producer on The Idolmaster Movie: Kagayaki no Mukougawa e!, Your Lie in April, SHELTER, Darling in the FranXX, Akebi’s Sailor Uniform. More recently, he has been listed among the producers of shows like Wind Breaker and Black Butler -Emerald Witch Arc-.

Okuno is the CG director of anime like Fate/Grand Order -First Order-, Kakegurui xx, and Chainsaw Man (co-credit). He also has 3DCG animation director credits on titles like Chainsaw Man and Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS.
