Shinichi Kudo is a 17 year old master detective beyond compare. His ability to combine is practically unmatched. When he was at the amusement park with his classmate Ran Mori one day, he saw two men in black (gin and vodka) on a suspicious deal. A man surprised and knocked him out from behind and passed out. Gin gave him a pill and when he came to, he had shrunk to the size of a 7 year old elementary school student. Now he has to live the life of a first grader while making sure he was staying with Ran Mori. There he solves many criminal cases for the failure of a private detective named Kogoro Mori and, together with the children Genta, Mitsuhiko and Ayumi, founds the Detective Boys. CONCLUSION

“Detective Conan” is an anime that initially comes up with an exciting setting, in which the first task is to find out who the mysterious men in black are. However, this quickly fades into the background and it is more about solving many different criminal cases, in which many perpetrators use very unbelievable mechanisms (keyword: fishing line and steel ropes). The resolution is usually staged in a very exciting way and the sympathetic characters like Ran Mori and Kogoro Mori quickly grow dear to the viewer. However, you shouldn’t expect the main plot to progress quickly here, because we’ve already passed the 1000 episode mark in Japan and also hit the 400 episodes in Germany. However, you get a very entertaining anime that you can watch over and over again.

Unfortunately, the animation quality is very fluctuating and often appears to be clapped around quickly and carelessly. However, this is probably due to the budget and the limited time available for production. However, it is expedient enough and not lousy. The German voice actors also do an excellent job and try to get the best out of it. Often there are also performances that surpass the Japanese original, especially with regard to the poor lip-synchronicity in the original. Above all, one can thank Karin Lehmann, who gets a lot out of the material with her lively and well-written dialogue books and great dialogue direction.

Overall, the series is a full recommendation for everyone who has nothing against exciting criminal cases or for whom the American 0815 CSI series are too boring. Be sure to have a look!
