The anime for “Spy x Family” started in Japan just a few weeks ago and is already a great success. You can find out why the anime is so good here.

Only five episodes of «Spy x Family» have started in Japan so far and it is already one of the most popular anime novelties of the season. A SimulDub is already available and will be released just a week after Japan! The first season will consist of 12 episodes in total. The production is being implemented by the animation studios WIT STUDIO and CloverWorks.

Storyline of «Spy x Family»

In a Cold War era, any conflict, no matter how small, can become a destructive powder keg – and nobody knows this better than secret agent Twilight. Many times he has prevented the already strained relationship between his native Westalis and his neighbor Ostania from escalating. But his latest assignment is tough: he has to obtain compromising material about an Eastern politician. Unfortunately, he lives very withdrawn and so Twilight has no choice but to approach him through his son and his private school. And as if it weren’t difficult enough for the socially ignorant agent to maintain the appearance of an elite family, he unknowingly chooses a professional assassin for his wife, coupled with a telepathically gifted adopted daughter. Can the three manage their life as a fake family without finding out about each other or even triggering a world war?

My opinion on anime

Although the story of “Spy x Family” may seem quite serious at first glance, it is already shown within the first episode that the whole thing can certainly be combined with comedy elements. After introducing the protagonists, an unbelievable family dynamic develops, which increases from episode to episode. The characters fit together so well that the artificial situation of a sudden family doesn’t seem as funny as it sounds at first. While Twilight’s abilities are superhuman, they always make for great entertainment. With the perfect animations and the wonderful setting, this makes for a very entertaining anime. In addition, the episodes will also be released with German dubbing, so you only have to wait a week for the new episodes after the Japan launch. So there is something for every taste.
