‘Mana-punk’ first-person action game Welcome to Brightville announced for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC

Kazakhstan-based studio Contrast Games has announced Welcome to Brightville, an Unreal Engine 5-based spell-combining first-person action game set in a mana-punk city, inspired by games like Atomic Heart, System Shock, and BioShock. It will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in 2027.

“With Welcome to Brightville, we wanted to create an immersive sim that truly reacts to the player—not just mechanically, but emotionally,” Contrast Games said in a press release. “We’ve combined spellcraft, exploration, and musical storytelling in a way that feels both experimental and deeply grounded in genre traditions.”
