A 60-year-old man was shoved to the tracks by an unhinged stranger in an unprovoked attack Saturday morning in a Harlem subway station, police and sources said.

The victim was standing on the platform in the No. 2/3 135th Street and Lenox Avenue station at around 5 a.m. when he was approached from behind by a 25-year-old man who pushed him, authorities said.

There was no train in the station at the time and the “conscious and alert” victim was helped from the tracks by another straphanger, police and sources said. He was taken to Harlem Hospital, authorities added..

The attacker was arrested at the scene and also taken to Harlem Hospital for a psychological evaluation, police said.

The shove is the latest in a wave of transit violence in New York City.
