#Man shot in leg during NYC ambush

A 37-year-old man was shot in the leg during a brazen afternoon ambush in Crown Heights, police said.

The victim told cops he was walking along Union Street, between Ralph Avenue and Portal Street, just before 1:30 p.m. Saturday, when a white Jeep approached and an unknown assailant fired multiple times, an NYPD spokesman told The Post.

The victim, who was shot in the left ankle, was transported to Kings County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the NYPD spokesman said. There are no arrests.

A longtime resident of the block told The Post she was in her apartment when she heard six shots and peeked through the window.

“Two guys ducked behind some parked cars. The white car started backing up and the guys ran,” the window witness said. “One went down, you know, like when you are sliding into first base. I thought he slipped. I didn’t know he got shot … They weren’t speeding. They were going slow like they didn’t care.

A witness near the scene said they heard six shots get fired out.

“The kids are in summer camp or they would be out here playing. Thank you, Jesus, they weren’t here,” she said, fuming, “With these guns, ain’t nobody living, all you are doing is killing each other. For what?”
