#Man punches woman after telling her to ‘go back to China’

A New Jersey man was arrested in Lower Manhattan on Monday for allegedly punching a woman in the face after telling her to “go back to China,” sources said.

The victim was strolling on West 14th Street on Monday afternoon when she heard a man behind her say: “You b–h, go back to your own country, go back to China,” according to police sources.

She turned around to confront the hateful creep and demanded an apology, telling him that she isn’t from China, though she is Asian, the sources said.

In response, the goon slapped the woman’s glasses off her face and slugged her — before running off toward Hudson Street.

Bystanders who witnessed the attack chased the man and held him until police arrived.

Fred Sousa, 50, of Elizabeth, N.J. was taken into custody at around 3:50 p.m. He faces possible hate crime charges and third-degree assault, the sources said.

The victim was taken to Lenox Health Greenwich Village hospital with a possible concussion.

The Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating.
