#Man jailed after allegedly slashing NYC Hasidic couple, baby

A homeless man who allegedly slashed a Hasidic couple and their 1-year-old daughter in Lower Manhattan was jailed — but not before mouthing off to the judge on Friday.

Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Jay Weiner ordered Darryl Jones, 30, held without bail on attempted murder charges in the shocking caught-on-camera attack Wednesday near Battery Park.

Weiner warned Jones during his virtual hearing that if he refused to leave jail for upcoming court appearances, he’d face additional consequences.

“I’m going to jail. How could it get worse?” Jones snapped at the jurist, before storming off.

Jones is accused of walking up behind a young couple, who were pushing their infant in a stroller on State Street, just before 6 p.m. Wednesday and slashing the 23-year-old father on the head and the 22-year-old mother on the lip, video shows.

The couple appear to frantically try to get away from the attacker, leaving the girl just steps behind, when Jones slashed at the stroller, cutting the girl on the chin, the video shows.

All three were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Jones was out on parole after serving nearly 10 years in prison for a violent August 2011 robbery on the Upper East Side when he was busted in the alleged slashing.
