A 24-year-old man was fatally shot in the Bronx late Monday amid a recent surge in gun violence citywide, cops said early Tuesday.

The victim was blasted in the back on Decatur Avenue near East Gunhill Road in the Norwood neighborhood around 11:45 p.m., cops said.

He was rushed to Montefiore Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead just before 1 a.m., police said.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting were not immediately clear.

In total on Monday, the NYPD reported seven shooting incidents with eight victims — not including the fatal Bronx shooting.

The Bronx homicide was not included in that number, since the victim died after midnight, according to police.

The violence continued just before 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, when a man was shot once in the ankle by an unknown suspect on River Street near Metropolitan Avenue in Williamsburg after he left a party.

He went to the Brooklyn Hospital Center by private means, with non-life-threatening injuries.
