#Man dies after crashing Revel scooter in Queens

A 32-year-old man was killed when he lost control of his Revel scooter in Queens early Tuesday, cops said.

Jeremy Malave, 32, was heading north on Woodhaven Boulevard near 67th Drive in Middle Village around 3:15 a.m. when he failed to properly navigate the roadway and slammed into a light pole within a center median, according to police.

Responding officers found him lying in the street with severe head trauma.

He was rushed to North Shore Forest Hills Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Malave, of Cypress Hills, Brooklyn, was the only passenger on the scooter.

It was not immediately clear what caused him to lose control.

Malave is the latest in a growing tally of people injured or killed while cruising on the controversial vehicles in the city.

A 30-year-old Revel driver was traveling down Fairview Avenue toward Wadsworth Terrace in Fort George, upper Manhattan, around 4:30 a.m. Saturday when he collided with a pole, flinging himself and his male passenger from the vehicle, police said.

The driver suffered severe head trauma, and his passenger, 32, hurt his left ankle, cops said.

Nina Kapur, a CBS New York reporter,  was a passenger on a Revel moped when she was killed in a Brooklyn accident on July 18.

Kapur, 26, of Newton, Pennsylvania, was riding the moped, driven by a 26-year-old man, at Franklin Street near India Street in Greenpoint, when the operator swerved because he believed a car was pulling out of a spot and he was trying to avoid it, police sources said.

About 12 hours before that accident, a 31-year-old man was critically hurt after an apparent mishap with his Revel scooter in Queens, police said.

It was unclear if the man fell off the scooter or was hit by a vehicle that fled, cops said at the time.
