The man was inside the vehicle at 135th and North Conduit Avenues in Springfield Gardens around 3:30 p.m. Monday when he was somehow ejected, cops said.
A witness said someone forced the man out of the SUV, according to police sources. Authorities could not immediately confirm that detail.
He was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he is considered brain-dead, and is suffering from a fractured skull, internal bleeding and cuts, according to the sources.
He is listed in critical condition, authorities said Wednesday.
It wasn’t immediately clear how many other people were inside the SUV.
The incident remains under investigation.
