#Man accused of throwing mug at NYPD van with cops inside

A man is wanted for throwing a ceramic mug at a marked NYPD van with two cops inside in a Queens public housing development, police said Sunday.

The 26-year-old struck the vehicle with the cup around 4 p.m. Saturday in the Astoria Houses as the officers sat inside, according to police.

The mug-thrower is known to the department and they are seeking him for questioning, cops said. The incident caused damage to the van’s front grill.

“They know who it is,” a police spokesman said. “It’s just a matter of time.”
