“Main Trailer and Visual for Sasaki and Miyano: Graduation Film Released”

New promotional material for the upcoming Sasaki and Miyano: Graduation anime movie has been released in the form of a main trailer and visual. The film is set to premiere in Japan on February 17.

Like the teaser, the main trailer also includes a very quick peek at the Hirano and Kagiura short that will be screened with the movie.

Sasaki and Miyano: Graduation is preceded by a 12-episode series that ran from January to March 2022. The anime is based on the KADOKAWA-published manga by Shou Harusono, which began in 2016 and has nine tankoubon volumes as of July 2022.

Yen Press describes the plot as:

It all started like a typical old-school boys’ love plotline—bad-boy senior meets adorably awkward underclassman, one of them falls in love, and so on and so forth. But although Miyano is a self-proclaimed boys’ love expert, he hasn’t quite realized…he’s in one himself. Which means it’s up to Sasaki to make sure their story has a happily ever after…!

The returning staff from the series includes Shinji Ishihira as director, Takahiro Ueno as assistant director, Maki Fujīi as character designer, Masaki Mayuzumi as art director, Imazato Katsuragi as color designer, and Kana Shibue as music composer. Series composer Yoshiko Nakamura is serving as the movie’s scriptwriter, while Daisuke Horino (Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion Z) is taking over the photography director position. Studio Deen is in charge of the animation production again.

Meanwhile, the returning cast includes Yuusuke Shirai as Shomei Sasaki, Souma Saitou as Yoshikazu Miyano, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Taiga Hirano, Yuuki Ono as Jiro Okasawara, Yuuma Uchida as Masato Hanzawa, Ryouhei Arai as Tasuke Kuresawa, Mitsuhiro Ichiki as Gonzaburo Tashiro, and Nobunaga Shimazaki as Akira Kagiura.

The Sasaki and Miyano manga is serialized on Gene Pixiv and published under the Gene Pixiv label. It has inspired the Hirano and Kagiura spin-off manga, two light novels, and a drama CD.
