“#Madonna teases ‘Madame X’ concert film on Paramount+”
Audiences have another chance to meet Madonna’s latest alter ego, “Madame X.”
A teaser for the Material Girl’s upcoming “Madame X” concert film was released Thursday, promoting its Oct. 8 premiere on Paramount+.
The flick, directed by Ricardo Gomes, was filmed in Lisbon, Portugal. The documentary follows the singer and 48 onstage performers including her children, musicians and dancers from around the globe, as well as the all-female Orquestra Batukadeiras.
In 2019, Madonna released her 14th studio album, “Madame X,” and soon after the release, embarked on a tour. Unfortunately for many fans — most notably some in Brooklyn — that never materialized due to an apparent knee injury suffered by the “Vogue” singer.
Madonna explained in a press release what the tour and “Madame X” persona capture for her.
“Sharing my vision with global audiences has been profoundly meaningful to me,” she said. “The opportunity to bring its message and the incandescent artistry of all involved to an even wider audience comes at a time when music is so deeply needed to remind us of the sacred bond of our shared humanity.”
Due to the ongoing series of cancellations — which included last-minute scrubs and others that were not rescheduled — viewing the concert has become a long-awaited event for fans. With the series of canceled stops and repeated delayed starts, some fans voiced aggravation with the performer, with one going so far as suing the pop legend for arriving late and delaying a show.
The MTV Entertainment Studios production will stream on Paramount+ starting Oct. 8.
