#Madonna shares health and touring update following hospitalization

Madonna has broken her silence for the first time since the bacterial infection that sent her to the ICU last month, forcing her to postpone her “Celebration” tour. The pop star took to social media today (July 10) to give fans a health and touring update.
“Thank you for your positive energy, prayers and words of healing and encouragement,” she wrote. “I’m on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life.”
Madonna acknowledged that while she didn’t want to disappoint ticket holders by postponing the tour, she knew that she had to focus on her health for a while. She also shared the news that while the North America section of the tour — which was set to begin this month — is still in the midst of rescheduling, the European leg will begin as planned in October.
