#Machine Gun Kelly Put THORNS On Megan Fox’s Engagement Ring So It Would ‘Hurt’ If She Tries To Take It Off!

Turns out there was another very specific reason Machine Gun Kelly was determined to design Megan Fox’s engagement ring himself!

As we’ve reported, the couple got engaged on January 11 after the rapper dropped to one knee during a romantic evening out. After drinking each other’s blood to seal the deal, they hopped on social media to share the good news with friends and followers, which of course meant showing off the stunning ring MGK designed!

But in a new interview with Vogue on Monday, the 31-year-old revealed a shocking new piece of information about his soon-to-be wife’s new bling! While explaining the two-stone ring (which includes an emerald for Megan’s birthstone and a diamond for his birthstone), the performer told the outlet:

“It’s a thoroughbred Colombian emerald, with no treatment. It was just carved into the teardrop, straight out of the mine. And the diamond was directly from [designer] Stephen [Webster].”

Into symbolism, Kelly explained the meaning of the sparkler, adding:

“The concept is that the ring can come apart to make two rings. When it’s together, it’s held in place by a magnet. So you see how it snaps together? And then it forms an obscure heart.”

But the kicker is what happens if Megan ever tries to take off the rock!

“And you see this right here? The bands are actually thorns. So if she tries to take it off, it hurts…”

When pressed about that truly unique — and dare we say, waaaay over the top — element, the Bad Things vocalist noted:

“Love is pain!”

Wow! Guess fans shouldn’t be that surprised given how emo this couple can be, but… we hope Fox’s finger doesn’t get too scraped up having to take on and off the ring! If she ever dares to, that is!

Elsewhere in the interview, the Jennifer’s Body alum opened up about how inspired she’s been watching MGK play with fashion, telling the outlet:

“Musicians have so much freedom to express themselves in the way that they dress. They can be so much more flamboyant than actors usually can.”

That said, she’s beginning to feel freer to test the limits of her wardrobe, adding:

“Prior to being famous everyone who knew me always knew that I would always wear one really insane piece, and everybody would be like, ‘You dress weird.’ And it wasn’t until I was molded and had to dress one way that I gave up on that. Being with him, obviously, he’s slightly eccentric in the way that he dresses—and that has freed me up to express myself more.”

Despite the thorny engagement ring, things seem to be going super well for the pair. A source told ET that the “two of them are so ready and excited to continue their journey as a couple,” expressing:

“MGK has been telling his friends how Megan is his dream girl and he is always trying to make her happy and do romantic things for her. His proposal plan was no exception and he wanted it to be very special.”
