Mac Miller released his Faces mixtape on Mother’s Day of 2014 and it’s now headed to land on streaming services over seven years later. On Wednesday (September 15), Mac Miller’s estate announced his 11th mixtape will arrive on streaming services and on vinyl on October 15.

The acclaimed mixtape is applauded as some of Mac’s most experimental work as he gets vulnerable while looking inward addressing his journey battling addiction issues.

Faces’ production is primarily held by Mac Miller under his Larry Fisherman alias with help from ID Labs. Features on the project come from the likes of ScHoolboy Q, Rick Ross, Mike Jones, Vince Staples, Earl Sweatshirt and more. ID Labs’ E. Dan was proud to play an integral role in bringing the project to the streaming world.

The late Pittsburgh native’s estate also released a music video for “Colors and Shapes,” which was brought to life by Sam Mason on the director’s side after gathering information about Mac’s childhood from his family to craft an intoxicating clip built around Mac’s dog, Ralph.

“The track felt very visual to me—like it had its own world. This atmospheric nighttime place that was sometimes dangerous, sometimes comforting, then I saw a picture of [Mac Miller’s dog Ralph] and a story emerged,” Mason relayed.

“To build it out I asked Malcolm’s family to send me bits and pieces from his childhood, scenes from the town where he grew up, objects, toys from his room—little pieces of his life that I extrapolated outwards and used to inspire the story. In the abstract, it’s meant to be a video about childhood—growing up as an artist and the highs and lows of that experience. It’s sort of a look at the emotional and difficult and perilous but noble path of an artist.”

Mac Miller tragically passed away on September 7, 2018, from an accidental overdose. His lone posthumous album, Circles, arrived in 2020. Look for Faces on streaming come next month.
