A man with a “disturbing obsession” for WWE star Sonya Deville was arrested Sunday morning after breaking into her Florida home, according to a report.

After more than eight months of planning, Phillip Thomas, 24, allegedly traveled from South Carolina to Deville’s home in Lutz, Fl., with the intent of taking the professional wrestler hostage, police said.

Without identifying Deville, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said the homeowner was specifically targeted in the 2:45 a.m. break-in.

ESPN reported, through property records, that Deville owns the home.

Deville and a guest were tipped off to Thomas’ entrance when her home security alarm went off once the suspect broke in through a back sliding door, police said. The two victims then fled the home and called 911.

Before going inside, Thomas allegedly cut a hole in the patio screen and waited there for about four hours until Deville went to bed.

Thomas was still at the house when officers arrived. He was found with a knife, plastic zip ties, duct tape and mace.

“Our deputies are unveiling the suspect’s disturbing obsession with this homeowner who he had never met, but stalked on social media for years,” Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement.

The suspect was charged with aggravated stalking, armed burglary of a dwelling, attempted armed kidnapping, and criminal mischief.

“It’s frightening to think of all the ways this incident could have played out had the home alarm not gone off and alerted the homeowner of an intruder,” said Chronister.
