The Lupin III franchise, which features the exploits of the master thief Lupin III, began with the manga series, created by the late Monkey Punch, that ran in Futabasha’s Weekly Manga Action magazine from August 10, 1967 to May 22, 1969. A total of 14 tankobon volumes were originally released in Japan. Tokyopop licensed the manga for release in English. Seven Seas Entertainment would later release select chapters in omnibus book format in 2021 and 2023, respectively.

The manga has inspired a franchise that includes numerous manga entries, TV anime adaptations, films, and OVAs. The first TV anime series adaptation began airing in 1971.

Fujimi no Ketsuzoku will follow Lupin and his friends looking for an elusive treasure on a mysterious unmarked island.
