Japanese entertainment company/talent agency Amuse announced today on August 5 that voice actress Kanako Takatsuki, best known as Hanamaru Kunikida in the Love Live! Sunshine!! franchise and a member of its voice actress idol unit Aqours, has been diagnosed with adjustment disorder and will take a hiatus from activities for a certain period of time.

The announcement writes as below:

Kanako Takatsuki, an artist belonging to our company, has been having some health problems for a while and has been seeing a doctor regularly. And she was diagnosed with adjustment disorder in a recent consultation. After consulting with the doctor, we would like to inform you that we have decided to focus on her treatment and suspend her activities for a certain period of time. We would like to express our sincere apologies to all the fans who have been supporting her, her co-performers, and everyone involved for the worry and inconvenience this may cause, and for the suddenness of this announcement. While checking her condition and seeking the judgment of the doctors, we ask for a little more time so that we can show her healthy appearance to everyone. Thank you for your understanding.

While her second solo single “Subversive” (the TV anime I’m Standing on a Million Lives second season ED theme) will be released on August 11, 2021, as scheduled, all of the promotional events for the single are canceled.

As a member of the Love Live! Sunshine!! franchise’s sub-unit AZALEA, she was scheduled to perform at the “Love Live! Sunshine!! AZALEA 1st LoveLive! ~In The Dark /*Himitsu no Monogatari*/~” concert event to be held at Xebio Arena Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture on August 14 and 15. But due to her condition, her appearance has been canceled. The concert will be performed by the two remaining members of the unit, Nanaka Suwa (Kanan Matsuura) and Arisa Komiya (Dia Kurosawa). In addition, all of her appearances in the franchise’s web radio program are also canceled.
