The official website for the forthcoming live-action film adaptation of Akieda’s Koi ha Hikari (Love is Light) romance manga has posted a 60-second full trailer and a main poster visual introducing its four main cast members. The Keiichi Kobayashi-written/directed film is set to be released in Japan on June 17, 2022.

The manga was serialized in Shueisha’s Ultra Jump from 2013 to 2017, then compiled in seven tankobon volumes. Its story centers on Saijo (Fuju Kamio), a university student who has a unique constitution that allows him to see women in love with a glowing light. One day, while living a school life with no romantic relationship, he meets and falls in love at first sight with Shinonome (Yuna Taira), a literary girl who says she wants to know what love is, and they start an exchange diary to discuss the definition of love. Their relationship causes a stir in the heart of Kitashiro (Nanase Nishino), a childhood friend of Saijo who has had a crush on him for a long time. Furthermore, Yadorigi (Fumi Baba), who is constantly stealing other people’s lovers, mistakes Saijo for Kitashiro’s boyfriend and begins to make a fierce approach to him. Before we knew it, the four are asking ourselves, “What is love?,” and eventually develop a strange quadrilateral relationship….
