#Long Island high school teacher accused of having sex with student

A Long Island high school teacher was arrested Monday for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a male student, police said.

Veronica Pezdan, 28, who taught math at Shoreham-Wading River High School, is accused of carrying out the relationship over the past two months, according to Suffolk County police.

The teacher was stopped by police on the William Floyd Parkway after leaving the school at about 11 a.m., cops said.

She is charged with rape and endangering the welfare of a child.

Her arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
