Engage Kiss has received its second trailer and key visual, providing another preview of the upcoming show’s characters. The trailer also shows off more of the action, including a team up-turned-clash between the main heroines. 

Various new information were released as well. These include the announcement of more cast members including Akeno Watanabe as Akino Yugiri, Kenichiro Matsuda as Morgan Miles, Yoshiaki Hasegawa as Tetsuya, Aya Uchida as Shenhua, Saori Oonishi as Linhua, and Ryouta Oosaka as Mihile. Meanwhile, Akari Nanawo was revealed to be the song artist for the ending theme “Renai Nou.”

Additionally, an advance screening of the anime’s first two episodes will be held on June 22 at Shinjuku Wald 9 with appearances from the main cast, while a manga adaptation will begin serialization on Square Enix’s Manga UP! app on July 2.

Finally, the summer period will see the release of Engage Kill, a previously announced smartphone game that is part of Project Engage with Engage Kiss.

Engage Kiss, described as an “unpredictable romantic comedy,” is set to premiere in Japan on July 2. The original anime takes place in Bayron City, a Mega-Float city in the Pacific Ocean that does not fall under the purview of any country, where a new energy resource called Orgonium is being mined. The city is also the site of frequent but publicly unknown demon-induced disasters, which are dealt with by private military companies. 

The story follows a young man called Shu Ogata, the owner of one such PMC, although his company is small and frequently cash-strapped. The other main characters are Kisara, a demon who is contracted to Shu and helps in exterminating other demons, and Ayano Yugiri, Shu’s former lover and an employee at a major PMC that Shu used to work at.

The anime’s staff includes Tomoya Tanaka (Visual Prison) as director, Fumiaki Maruto (Saekano author) as series composer and scriptwriter, Tsunako (Date A Live illustrator) as original character designer, Shunsaku Yano (Double Cross The Third Edition rulebook co-author) as setting designer, Masaaki Takiyama (Fate/Grand Order Final Singularity – Grand Temple of Time: Solomon co-sub character designer) as animation character designer and chief animation director, and Chiaki Naruzumi (Sword Art Online Alicization War of Underworld Final Season animation director) as sub character designer and chief animation director. A-1 Pictures is the animation production company.
