#Isla Fisher, Josette Simon, Nico Parker, Leila Farzad Join Renée Zellweger in New ‘Bridget Jones’ Movie

Universal Pictures and Working Title have announced new and returning cast members for Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, the fourth installment of the British-based romantic film comedy series.

Joining the cast are Isla Fisher, Josette Simon, Nico Parker and Leila Farzad. Already announced to return is Renée Zellweger to reprise her role as the lovable but flailing-at-life Jones, and Hugh Grant as rascal Daniel Cleaver. Emma Thompson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Leo Woodall were also earlier announced for the film.  

In the latest casting news, Universal and Working Title announced Sarah Solemani, Sally Phillips, Shirley Henderson and James Callis will reprise their roles as Bridget’s friends, alongside Gemma Jones and Jim Broadbent, who return as Bridget’s mother and father.

Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, also from StudioCanal and Miramax, will additionally see Celia Imrie, Neil Pearson and Joanna Scanlan in returning roles. The film will hit cinemas internationally and on Peacock in the U.S. on Feb. 14, 2025, in time for Valentine’s Day.

Michael Morris, who helmed the Andrea Riseborough drama To Leslie, will direct the adaptation of the best-selling 2013 novel by Jones creator Helen Fielding. The novel Mad About a Boy has widow Jones returning to the dating scene and, unlike the earlier Bridget Jones books, now has tweets and texts added to her diary as she navigates life, work, family and love as a 51-year-old single mother.

Fielding wrote the script for the movie adaptation with contributions from Abi Morgan and Dan Mazer. The Bridget Jones films have brought in over  $760 million in worldwide box office to date.

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, and Jo Wallett, through Working Title Films, with Amelia Granger and Sarah-Jane Wright as executive producers alongside Fielding. StudioCanal will also co-finance and co-distribute in select international territories. Miramax is co-financing the film.
