#Lloyd Cadena, YouTube star with millions of followers, dead at 26

Social media personality Lloyd Cadena, who had 3.1 million YouTube subscribers and 6.5 million followers on Facebook, has died. He was 26 years old.

The popular Filipino comedian and content creator’s passing was confirmed in a statement posted to his official Facebook page Friday morning. No cause of death has been announced at this time.

“It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the untimely demise of our beloved brother Lloyd Cafe Cadena,” the statement reads. “May he be remembered for all the joy and laughter he shared with everyone. My family and I ask for your prayers, respect, and privacy during this time.”

Known fondly as “Kween LC,” Cadena quickly became a trending topic on US and international Twitter upon news of his death. He launched his YouTube channel in 2011 and became one of his country’s most popular vloggers, CNN Philippines reported.

Fans were quick to pay online homage to the young man who was known for his signature “Darna” and “Gusto mo yun?” catchphrases.

“This breaks my heart. You made so many people so happy and have touched many lives including mine. Gone too soon ? you will be missed Llyod,” fellow YouTube star Andi Mazano Reyes commented on his family’s announcement.

“This is ??? darn you 2020!!!!,” gaming video creator Eric Eruption Tai added.

YouTuber Madame Ely paid his respects on Twitter, posting “I lost my best friend today” along with broken heart and crying face emojis.

Cadena’s passing is the latest in a string of young YouTube star deaths, following 19-year-old Landon Clifford, star of “Cam & Fam,” who hanged himself in August after struggling with depression and drug addiction for years. Mommy vlogger Nicole Thea, 24, who was pregnant, died of a “massive heart attack” in July.
