#Live video shows ongoing search-and-rescue mission in Beirut

Live video shows the ongoing search of rubble from last month’s massive explosion in Beirut — after a rescue dog detected a child’s heartbeat beneath the wreckage earlier Thursday.

Footage streamed by Reuters shows rescue workers in bright jackets near the search site, which was illuminated by flood lights after the sun set in the Lebanese capitol.

The effort came after a rescue dog — a five-year-old pooch named Flash — had alerted at the destroyed building while walking by on Wednesday evening.

“These (signs of breathing and pulse) along with the temperature sensor means there is a possibility of life,” rescue worker Eddy Bitar told reporters at the scene.

A civil defense unit was called in to help with extra equipment to conduct the search, said Bitar.

Local media said the mission was likely to take hours.
