“Little Ellen: Cancelled, HBO Max Dumps Already-Completed Third Season of Animated Series”
Little Ellen has been canceled by HBO Max after the streaming service renewed the series for a third season. The already produced season will now not air, per Deadline. It is not yet known if the finished episodes will air on another network.
The animated series shows the life of a young Ellen Degeneres. Season three was set to show her at age seven. Season two aired on the streamer in March 2022, and it featured the voice cast of Laurel Emory, Johanna Colon, JeCobi Swain, and June Squibb. Season three was originally scheduled for release in June.
The following was revealed about the HBO Max series:
“Produced by Ellen Digital Ventures and Warner Bros. Animation, it was one of the latter’s first preschool series in some time. The show follows a “hilarious” and “imaginative” seven-year-old Ellen, who finds fun and adventure in New Orleans with her wise and eccentric Gramsy, musical best friend Freckle, fashion-forward cousin Becky and clever cat Charlie.”
