Paradise Rising, the Philippine-based sister label of 88Rising, returns with their sophomore EP entitled semilucent 2. The five-track EP follows the release of their 2020 debut mixtape semilucent, with a brand-new roster featuring Filipino R&B singers Steven Peregrina and daze, rapper Curtismith, Filipino-Canadian R&B duo Manila Grey, Filipino-American artist Christian Alexander, and a collaboration between Filipino-American producer Manila Killa and Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna. Similar with semilucent, the highly anticipated project was launched with visuals for each track premiering on 88Rising’s YouTube channel.

The EP was launched yesterday (October 4) with a music video for its first track, “Island Baby (Maarte)” by Manila Grey.

In other 88rising news, the Asian-American media company/label’s Head in the Clouds Festival returns this year headlined by Saweetie, CL, and its flagship artists Joji, Rich Brian, and NIKI. Last month, 88rising also co-executive produced the music for Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings.
