In some ways, Michael Conforto saved the Mets season on Wednesday night with the catch of the year. The Mets go into their weekend series against the Blue Jays at 20-24, hanging on to their playoff hopes by a thread. We talk about the Mets’ lineup coming together and Jeff McNeil coming back to life, along with Alonso’s clutch homers. Edwin Diaz has surprisingly been good outside of his four blown saves. We talk about his improvement and the need for him to be great down the stretch here. We then talk about Conforto and the need to pay him around $20 million a year for many years. What has changed for Conforto? We wrap up the segment examining the schedule the rest of the way and if the Mets can sneak into the playoffs.
