The Yankees took two out of three from the Nationals down in Washington, D.C. over the weekend to open the 2020 season. Unfortunately, that was not the biggest story. The Yankees-Phillies game Monday was postponed as the Phillies await COVID-19 test results, following 11 Marlins players coming down with the virus.

Chris Shearn and Jeff Nelson open a brand new episode of the “Pinstripe Pod” talking about Monday’s game getting postponed, the Marlins’ outbreak, the impact on MLB now and the rest of the season. Will MLB get through the whole season? If it happened to the Yankees, would there be a greater chance the would sport shut down? The guys then dive into what the Yankees did over the weekend. Nellie breaks down Gerrit Cole’s debut Thursday. They talk about James Paxton’s rough outing Saturday, Tommy Kahnle’s filthy changeups Sunday, Emilio Bonifacio’s baserunning blunder for the Nats and if there is any concern over Gary Sanchez’s defense after a passed ball.
