This song is on its way to becoming the biggest hit of her career. According to the latest Oricon sales report, anison singer LiSA's 17th single "Homura" (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train theme song) has dominated both of its weekly digital single ranking and streaming ranking for five consecutive weeks since its release on October 12.
Two days prior to its CD single release, the title track "Homura" alone was released in full size in advance and made its No.1 debut on 55 digital charts in Japan. Even in its fifth week, the song was downloaded 62,300 times and streamed 14,182,108 times. It has become the second song that dominates both rankings for five consecutive weeks, following Official HIGE DANdism's fourth single "I LOVE…" released in February 2020. LiSA has also become the first Japanese female artist who has achieved that record.
As reported, the physical CD single of "Homura" and her fifth CD album "LEO-NiNE," released on the same day, were already certified Gold by The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ). By its fifth week, "Homura" has sold at least 183,000 copies in Japan.
Also, the song's five-minute music video, which was posted on her official YouTube on October 13, has been already viewed a massive 57 million times only in one month.
