#LiSA's Demon Slayer Film Theme Song CD Reaches Platinum in Japan

 

 

The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has confirmed that anison singer LiSA's 17th CD single "Homura" (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train theme song) is certified "platinum" by shipping more than 250,000 copies since its release on October 14, 2020. The CD immediately reached "gold" (100,000 copies) soon after its release. According to Oricon's weekly single chart, it has sold at least 235,000 copies in total in nine weeks.

 

Oricon has also announced that the song has dominated its digital single chart for nine consecutive weeks. It has become the second digital single dominating the chart for nine weeks, following Kenshi Yonezu's "Lemon" in 2018. The total number of downloads for that song is now 709,966 times. 

 

Also, the song's music video has been viewed more than 95 million times on YouTube. It's only a matter of time before it reaches the 100 million mark. Not only the movie but also the theme song is going to be a huge hit in the history of Japanese popular culture.
