“#LiSA Makes Her 3rd Appearance on NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen on December 31”
Today on November 19, Japan’s national broadcasting station NHK announced the 44 performers/groups of its annual New Year’s Eve special live-broadcasting program, Kohaku Uta Gassen, including anisong singer LiSA. This year’s Kohoaku will be aired on NHK from 19:30 to 23:45 on December 31, 2021 (JST).
She will make her appearance in the highest-rating Japanese music program for three consecutive years. In her first appearance in 2019, she sang her 15th single song “Gurenge” (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba TV anime OP). Then in her second appearance last year, she sang the “Kohaku SP Medley” that included “Gurenge” and her 17th single song “Homura” (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train theme song).
While this year’s song titles to be performed have not yet been announced, she is expected to sing either or both of her double A-side 20th single songs, “Akeboshi” and “Shirogane,” the OP and ED theme songs for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train Arc.
After the official announcement by NHK, LiSA posted her comments on her official Twitter account: “I will be participating in the 72nd NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen. In this important year, the 10th anniversary of LiSA’s debut, with my gratitude to all of you who has brought me to the stage of the Kohaku Uta Gassen for the third time, I’ll do my best to deliver the song. I would appreciate your support.”
