#New Shaman King Anime Casts Masakazu Morita as Mosuke

Masakazu Morita, who voices Shin in the Kingdom series, has been cast as Mosuke in the upcoming Shaman King anime. The character was previously voiced by Hisao Egawa in the 2001 anime adaptation.

A character visual for Mosuke was also released. 

Previously revealed cast members for the show include Youko Hikasa (Cells at Work! CODE BLACK, Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina) as You Asakura, Katsuyuki Konishi (Deca-Dence) as Amidamaru, Inuko Inuyama (Pokémon Journeys: The Series) as Manta Oyamada, Megumi Hayashibara (Pokémon Journeys: The Series) as Anna Kyouyama, Romi Park (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) as Tao Ren, and Kousuke Takaguchi (Guilty Crown) as Bason.

Other cast members include Masahiko Tanaka (Obsolete) as Ryuunosuke Umemiya, Wataru Takagi (Dorohedoro) as Tokagerou, and Minami Yakayama (Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope’s Peak High School) as Hao, and Takehito Koyasu (Attack on Titan: Final Season) as Johann Faust VIII.

The staff of Shaman King includes Jouji Furuta (The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments, Uta no Prince-sama: Maji Love Kingdom) as director, Jouji Yonemura (Wave, Listen to Me!) as series composer, Sano Satohiko (Talentless Nana) as character designer, Masaaki Kawaguchi (Talentless Nana) as art director, Natsuko Ootsuka (In/Spectre) as color designer, Teruyuki Kawase (Talentless Nana) as photography director, and Yuuki Hayashi (My Hero Academia) as music composer. Studio Bridge is in charge of the animation production. 

Shaman King is based on the manga series by Hiroyuki Takei, which ended in 2004. The manga was first adapted into an anime in 2001. The 2021 adaptation received a teaser trailer in September 2020, followed by a full promotional video and key visual in December 2020.

Kodansha, which announced in July 2020 that it was teaming up with comiXology to make the entire manga series available in English digitally, describes the story as:
