On Thursday (June 10), Durk and his family held a funeral for DThang (born Dontay Banks Jr.) where Durk was photographed wearing all white and forcing a smile for the camera. A copy of the funeral service ephemera was also posted online, which featured several photos of DThang and the words, “In Our Hearts Forever.”

According to ABC7 Chicago, DThang was fatally shot outside of a strip club called Club O in Harvey, roughly 20 minutes outside of Chicago. Alleged witnesses at the scene claimed he was struck in the head and died instantly.
Harvey spokeswoman Giavonni Nickson said multiple shots were fired during the incident and “lots of weapons” were recovered on-site.
Shortly before DThang was killed, a Harvey police officer heard gunfire and noticed a person with a gun. As more gunfire erupted, the officer was struck in the thigh, but it’s unclear if the officer returned fire or was targeted.
Around 2 a.m. local time on Sunday morning (June 6), another person was killed in what police believe could be a retaliation shooting. Police responded to a shooting near Ingalls Memorial Hospital and discovered 39-year-old Sinica Price with a gunshot wound. She was taken to South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest and pronounced dead.
No arrests in either shooting have been made.
