#’AGT’ kid magicians The Rocketts strip searched before jail: neighbor

Two kid magicians arrested by cops in Louisiana for refusing to return to their mother as part of a bitter custody battle were strip searched before being placed alone in separate jail cells for two nights, their friend and neighbor told The Post.

Brother and sister duo Kadan, 15, and Brooklyn Rockett, 13, — who wowed Simon Cowell in the “AGT” semifinals back in 2016 — were unable to pull a Houdini and escape what they told friends was a scary stay in a roach-infested juvenile detention center near where their relatives live in Lillie, Louisiana.

It was the second time the Rockett teens landed behind bars on orders from a Missouri judge overseeing the custody battle.

The pair were taken away in handcuffs in separate police cars from their grandfather’s home on Nov. 18, after crying and saying they did not feel safe returning to their mother, Kami Lyn Rockett, who lives in Utah. Their mother was reportedly waiting at the sheriff’s department to retrieve them and bring them back home to Utah but they went to jail instead.

“It just broke my heart,” said Emily Truman, 45, who was one of several neighbors who witnessed the teens’ arrest. “The cop was so rough with Kadan — and Brooklyn was so upset she was sobbing and just losing it. I was so ashamed. I’ve lived here in Union Parish all my life, and I’ve seen a lot of things, but I’ve never seen anything like what happened to these kids.”

Truman said the teens came by to see her after their ordeal. They had returned to Louisiana briefly after the death of their grandmother but normally live with their father in LA.

“They told me they were terrified,” Truman said. “They were completely alone in two different cells, stripped, searched and made to take a shower. Brooklyn said she cried the whole time.”

But the kids had some prior experience behind bars. According to a police report filed in Forsyth, Missouri,  last year that was obtained by The Blaze, the kids accused Taney County Judge Eric Eighmy of illegally locking them up in two courthouse holding cells for part of the day after a custody hearing with both parents present.

Eighmy, who could not be reached for comment, had allegedly lectured the teens on his distaste for them being “Hollywood kids.”

Kami Rockett did not return a call from The Post.

The Rocketts are still in Louisiana, for the time being.

“The kids are doing great and are staying strong during this tough time,” Bart Rockett told The Post. “They’re straight ‘A’ students in advanced classes and will graduate early. They’ve traveled 40 countries. I support their right to have their voices heard.”

Rockett as well as his lawyer, Dhu Thompson, could not comment further because of the gag order imposed on the case, but Rockett did refer to the saga as an “insane nightmare” on his Facebook page.

It was unclear what, if anything, the kids were charged with after being arrested but sources said nothing will appear on their records.

Truman has started a GoFundMe page for the kids in which she claimed the Missouri Supreme Court ruled Judge Eighmy was wrong in his rulings and issuance of his orders and ordered him off the case. Eighmy was once the personal attorney for Bart Rockett’s mother until they had a falling out.

Bart and Kami Rockett divorced in 2009. Bart Rockett is also a magician and illusionist and for a while had his own theater in Branson, Missouri. His former wife was a dancer in Branson. Rockett and his kids have lived in LA for the past decade.
