The upcoming Oshi no Ko television anime adaptation will premiere in 2023 with a 90-minute first episode. A teaser visual featuring Ai Hoshino has also been released, who will be voiced by Rie Takahashi in the anime series.
A special program with new information about the Oshi no Ko anime will stream later this December 11, 2022.

The production staff consists of Daisuke Hiramaki (Selection Project, Asteroid in Love) is directing the show with Chao Nekotomi (Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie opening director and storyboarder, Selection Project Episode 7 dance part director and storyboarder) as assistant director. Kanna Hirayama (Selection Project, Rent-A-Girlfriend) is the character designer, while Jin Tanaka (Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, Laid-Back Camp) is the series screenwriter. Doga Kobo is handling the animation production.
The original manga series is written by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish). It was first serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine on April 23, 2020 and is published under the Young Jump Comics label. Eight tankoubon volumes have been released as of June 2022, with a ninth volume due out for release on October 19, 2022.

Yen Press releases the manga series in English. It describes the synopsis as:
Gorou is a gynecologist and idol fan who’s in shock after his favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Gorou realize that he’s about to forge a bond with her that defies all common sense! Lies are an idol’s greatest weapon in this outrageous manga from Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari.
